Wow! It has been almost a year since I have found the time to sit and find myself here. Writing is something I crave yet finding the time to divulge in the creative process is difficult at best. However, when I do carve out that space, I feel weight lift off my frame as the words float out into space. I feel lighter, relaxed, resonating more clearly. Expanding with each breath, I move forward.
I am one birth away from being able to sit for my certification to become a CPM and I am pregnant with my fifth child. So much can change in 10 months. So much. I am in no rush. Taking my time like molasses rolling across a wooden spoon, I find myself enjoying every moment of my apprenticeship, every detail of this pregnancy. It seems fitting that my last pregnancy and the final stages of my apprenticeship are co-occurring. Their intertwining represents not only the end but the beginning. The end of my childbearing years and the beginning of transitioning to the next archtype of Woman. The ending of being under the wing of a senior midwife, being nudged out of the nest, ready to take flight on my own. The line between here or there is blurred and stretched by our motions and I am enjoying flowing with each next step.
Here is to whatever will be found around the bend. Now back to some more birth stories!
